Growing

Would you like to grow some of your own fruit and veg? Maybe some tomato plants on your windowsill, some spring onions in a raised bed or just some salad in pots on your patio? Well MOO Food can help you with all of these.

We believe that everyone has a right to grow their own food, and we are helping people to do this. Gardening is a great way to relax, exercise and to get outdoors too.

Beetroot, broccoli and beans. Cauliflowers, courgettes and cabbages. The list really is endless. All of these can be grown in Scotland, and in Muir of Ord we are lucky to have flat land and fantastic soil. So let’s start growing!

Growing your own food is incredibly rewarding. Imagine planting a seed in spring, nurturing the plant for a season, and then harvesting and eating the fruit. It is easy to do when you have the knowledge and a good place to grow. We can help you with both.

Maybe you’d like to grow some veg, but live in a flat with no garden. Don’t worry, we can link you up with other residents in the village that have garden space to offer. They may also be able to give you some helpful tips on how to get started.

We can also help with seed swaps, sharing seedlings and building raised beds in your own garden. Some come on – start this season and be eating your own home-grown food in no time.
